Overview

Weapons are the backbone of Incursion: Red River, and essential to survival in a raid.

Acquisition

The primary way to obtain weapons is to purchase them from the shop in the safehouse. These weapons come with their default parts and accessories, but players can also customize weapons at the gunsmith using parts available in the shop or their stash. Customized weapons can then be purchased from the gunsmith, provided all installed parts are available and the player meets the faction reputation requirements for each part.

During raids, weapons can be looted from fallen enemy soldiers. These weapons have randomly selected parts and are generally in poor condition. Weapon crates may also spawn across the map, containing weapons in better condition with similarly randomized parts.

Weapons can also be found in pristine condition inside random containers. However, these weapons are often unusable because they lack essential parts, such as a handguard or pistol grip. Installing the missing parts makes them functional in combat.

Weapon Condition and Durability

Weapons have a durability meter that starts at 100 and decreases with use. Durability affects the weapon's performance, with lower durability making the firearm increasingly prone to jamming, which can prove deadly in a firefight.

The weapon's current durability is displayed as a bar on the right side of the screen when the weapon is equipped. The inventory screen also indicates durability using three color-coded stages:

  • White: Durability above 75%.
  • Yellow: Durability between 25% and 75%.
  • Red: Durability below 25%.

Weapon durability can be restored by repairing the weapon. Upgrading the Gunsmith station to Level 1 at the safehouse allows the player to repair weapons using WD-40 Spray and Duct Tape. At Level 3, the Gunsmith station also allows weapons to be repaired using cash instead.

Each repair reduces the weapon's maximum durability by 5, meaning that its maximum durability gradually decreases with repeated repairs. Eventually, purchasing a new weapon from the shop may be more cost-effective than continuing to repair the old one. The player can then transfer the old weapon's parts to the new weapon.
