Overview
Pistols have a dedicated slot in the player's equipment. With the player having two slots for long guns, pistols are generally relegated to the holdout weapon role.
Usage by the Factions
Pistols are commonly used by several factions in the game, with enemy soldiers carrying them encountered in the Quarry and Bunker regions.
The UICS primarily use the Beretta M9A3, Glock 19, and SIG P320, with the FN Five-seveN appearing less frequently. The VLF favour the Norinco QSZ-97, though some soldiers are also equipped with the Beretta M9A3 or FN Five-seveN. The IGC are the only faction in the game that does not use handguns.
